It all started when…

One of my students kept repeating to me “we need to have Yoga Path t-shirts”. At the time it was the furthest thing from my mind. But at her persistance, I finally gave in and decided to look into making some shirts that did more than just provide some fashionable coverage. I realized I had the opportunity to spread a little positivity in the messages blazoned across the front or back of the shirt. Nichole was the instigator and she’s also a dear friend. She is the one in our sangha (yoga study group) that is always keeping us accountable to our practice. This discipline is known as tapas. In the store you will find a shirt design that says ‘Tapas Queen”. That is Nichole!

When you visit the store you will find several designs. “Feel your strength. Acknowledge your beauty. Honor your truth.” These are the pillars of Yoga Path. It is when we meet ourselves with compassion that we are better able to see ourselves as human beings connected by life’s challenges and it reminds us that we have the ability for self-compassion.

The one in the image was inspired by another student of mine whose name happens to be Joy. And when she became a part of our sangha she didn’t just join in, she brought her namesake with her. She is a ray of light.

Another design ‘use “could” not “should”’ is something I learned during my training at Kripalu. “Should” has such a shaming, negative tone to it. “Could” on the other hand opens the mind to possibilities and gives one the prospect of opportunity.
